"Catchy Like A Cold!" is a gargantuan and powerful pop anthem containing a playful whimsical subject matter encouraging artistic integrity and the importance of keeping instrumental riffs, song melodies, and vocal hooks as simple and catchy as possible.
Tailor-made for live-performance with crowd participation in mind, "Catchy Like A Cold!" is not just a song; it's an ANTHEM. It's made to be BELTED OUT WITH FULL FORCE at stadiums and arenas, and it's tailor-made for mass participation and the communal experience.
This is where I aim to cleverly showcase a lot of my creative talents in full stride, testifying this stadium pop-rock anthem's powerful message (contained in the verses) with energetic power and sheer enthusiasm, before building up to a power-chord-pumped thundering chorus that demands to be sung at the top of one’s lungs — preferably as a kick-off to an epic night out (particularly a girls' night-out).
"Catchy Like A Cold!" features an AWESOME RAP from one of my best friends and creative types: the incredible, legendary, and one-and-only New Kid on the Block GP MON$AY!
The B-side, "Midsummer at Coleraine!", is a celestial and calming Ulster-Pop instrumental composition I put together during a country drive in the hills and mountains of Coleraine, Northern Ireland, in late 2022.
I played a Roland TR-909 drum machine and a Yamaha PSR-E403 keyboard throughout this AWESOME mini-package and I achieved the distinctive BRIGHT PIANO sounds by using the "Ac. Piano1 A" oscillator patch on the Roland JV-1080 "Plug-Out" VST and the "Piano 8'" preset on the Korg M1 Legacy VST (from Korg's Legacy Collection series).
